Michiko Myers

Michiko Myers is an Apprentice Instructor under our Apprentice Program. The Apprentice Program, led by Master Trainer Nanci Patch, aims to train Pilates instructors utilizing the methods and curriculum in our Balanced Body Education Teacher Training Program.

Michiko began her Balanced Body Education studies in 2016 with Nanci at the studio. She is working to complete the Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Program and she aspires to become Pilates Method Alliance certified. She was first introduced to Pilates Mat in 2005 after an injury to her hip. Pilates was the perfect non-impact exercise to help her gain strength to walk again and she has practiced ever since. The more she practiced the more she saw how Pilates worked for her and her friends. Her passion grew as she saw in her own body new strength, new definition and an improved tennis game. Her best friend who has scoliosis introduced her to the Pilates reformer exercises and she noticed that when she took breaks from Pilates, she would start having discomfort.

Michiko currently lives in Round Rock, Texas with her husband, two children and their dog. She loves healthy eating, playing tennis with her family, walking/hiking to new places, working out and practicing Pilates.

Her goals for her classes are to have a successful movement experience with the group. Finding ways to work the body to feel grounded and engaged verses muscling through and straining to get through an exercise. The group will see and experience different modifications for different levels of experience or for what their bodies are feeling like doing that day. She hopes to be a positive influence for the group to improve their Pilates practice and get inspired to do more for themselves and be better for the loved ones in their life. Students in the class will work to gain more strength, balance, coordination, flexibility and overall improved health with decreasing stress. She welcomes all to experience her class and learn with her.
