Martha McCarroll

My yoga path began at home with a VHS!  Like many people, I felt intimidated by attending a public class. Then a friend invited me to my first yoga class where I felt welcoming energy.  I also became hooked to the energy I developed during my practice and to the sense of peace I cultivated afterwards.  I was thirsty for more! I went to as many classes as I could to explore a wide variety of styles.  I liked playing with the different postures (asanas) and the various breathing techniques (pranayama) that prepared me to meditate.  After many years, I decided to get my certification and share my knowledge of yoga with others.

Yoga has enriched my life in so many ways.  It has broadened my awareness of what my physical and mental body need to keep me happy and healthy: to breath life in and enjoy the present!

I am a registered yoga teacher at the 200 hour level and am currently working toward the 500 hour level.  I teach Gentle Hatha Yoga and Hatha Flow.  I live in Georgetown with my husband and two children.  I enjoy keeping my mind, body and spirit active with yoga, reading, running and spending much loved time with my family and friends.
